On Sunday, May 26 at 4 pm, Villa Rondinelli is pleased to invite you to “ERBARIO DA BOCCA [asemic]” – a sound installation for objects and writings by @kratu___, presented in the framework of the series “Out of court, In amicizia” curated by Marco Mazzi.

The fragments at the core of this installation originate from a double loss – the death of a friend and the theft of a bag containing the artist’s notebook – giving way to a silent, dry and pre-alphabetic dimension. Kratu intuitively connects these objects with the verses of her book Erbario da bocca (MC, 2024), engaging in a subtractive, post-literal operation of rewriting, manifested in a repetition of holes and sheets, sutures, burns, lacerations and scarred stratifications. Language engulfs and digests itself, whereby dissolution is impossible except in other semblances of language.

Serena Dibiase is a vocal and visual experimenter, independent researcher, sound artist and poet. She identifies her productions and art projects with the androgynous name of “Kratu”. Her investigation is grounded in intense physical/respiratory practices (she is a bioenergetic trainer with a background as a dancer) and carried out through sound collection and editing devices integrated with writing. She works with independent companies as a sound dramaturg and performer, and as an artistic collaborator in contexts of social hardship.
She recently published her first EP “Nostalgia for the Androgynous” (Maga Circe, 2024) and the book “Erbario da bocca”, (MC Edizioni, 2024).
