PARCO VILLA TRECCI

Villa Trecci Park is a fascinating garden located just a few kilometers from the historic center of Montepulciano, nestled in the breathtaking landscape of the Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana. Designed by landscape architect Adelmo Barlesi starting in 2014, the park covers an area of approximately three hectares, offering a unique sensory experience thanks to the variety of its themed areas and the richness of its vegetation.

The garden welcomes visitors with a harmonious combination of Mediterranean plants, ancient and modern roses, aromatic herbs, and grasses that sway in the wind, creating spectacular scenic effects. Particular attention has been given to sustainability, with an irrigation system that collects and reuses rainwater to ensure plant maintenance even during the hottest seasons. At the heart of the park lies a picturesque lake, home to fish, aquatic insects, frogs, and toads, surrounded by marsh and aquatic vegetation that contributes to the area’s biodiversity.

A distinctive feature of Villa Trecci Park is its rose garden, enclosed by brick walls and characterized by symmetrical flower beds that host a rich selection of roses from the Barni collection. A traditional lemon house, typical of Tuscan villas, provides shelter for citrus trees during the colder months and allows them to be displayed outdoors in the summer. Among the pathways and more secluded corners, visitors can also find spaces dedicated to relaxation and reading, including a small library with botanical and landscape texts.

In addition to the beauty of its garden, Villa Trecci periodically hosts cultural events, including concerts and theatrical performances, held in the intimate and charming setting of the lemon house. This place is not only a peaceful retreat for nature and botany lovers but also a cultural center that enhances the connection between art and landscape.

Villa Trecci Park is open to the public on Thursday afternoons, offering visitors the opportunity to explore its most evocative corners and immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of the Tuscan countryside. For those wishing to discover a garden cared for with passion and sensitivity, this destination is an unmissable stop in the heart of Tuscany.

Mangiare & Dormire a Montepulciano

Fattoria San Martino
